Reda Darwish, a native of Cairo, has been playing various
percussion instruments since childhood. In fact he was
featured weekly on Egyptian television at the age of eight.
Bongos and congas were among his early interests.
Soon Reda was playing for Egypt's most famous dancers and
singers including Fayza Ahmed, Nagat Iisaghira and Samira
Said. Reda was in demand at recording studios and later
touring with Hani Mahanna's orchestra. They eventually toured
the United States where Reda has now made his new home.
In constant demand for performances, Reda has also recorded
his own compositions. He was commissioned to compose the sound
track for the Readers Digest's Wonders "Sacred and Mysterious"
series covering Egypt and Turkey.
